The Kroussaw Foundation is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our mission, guiding our initiatives, and helping us expand our impact in the community. Together, we can make meaningful change!
All About Board Committees

The Board of Directors can establish committees to assist them in the conduction of their business. Committee meetings are held on an as-needed basis on a short term basis which could be six months to a year depending on the project requirements. The committee chairperson sets times and dates. All members of the Board of Directors are expected to serve on at least one committee. There will be a maximum of five committees running simultaneously managed by the board President, Vice President, and Executive director.
Executive Committee:

Purpose: Provides leadership and makes decisions on urgent matters between board meetings. It typically includes the board officers and may address strategic issues and governance matters.​
Finance Committee:

Purpose: Oversees financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and investment strategies. It ensures the organization's financial health and compliance with fiscal policies.
Audit Committee:

Purpose: Oversees the internal and external audit processes, reviews financial statements, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. It is responsible for maintaining financial transparency and integrity.
Governance/Nominating Committee:

Purpose: Manages board recruitment, orientation, and development. It also reviews and updates bylaws and governance policies to ensure effective board practices.
Program Committee:

Purpose: Evaluates and oversees the organization’s programs and services. It ensures that programs align with the mission and strategic goals and assesses their effectiveness and impact.
Development/Fundraising Committee:

Purpose: Focuses on fundraising strategies, donor relations, and resource development. It helps to drive the organization’s fundraising efforts and secure financial support.
Marketing and Communications Committee:

Purpose: Oversees the organization’s public relations, marketing strategies, and communication efforts. It ensures that the organization’s message and branding are consistent and effective.
Human Resources/Compensation Committee:

Purpose: Manages compensation and benefits for the Executive Director and senior staff, and oversees human resources policies and practices. It ensures that staffing practices support the organization’s goals and comply with legal standards.
Strategic Planning Committee:

Purpose: Guides the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan. It helps set long-term goals and strategies for achieving the mission.
Risk Management Committee:

Purpose: Identifies and assesses risks to the organization, including legal, financial, and operational risks. It develops strategies to mitigate these risks and ensures proper risk management practices are in place.
